Camera movement and editing: blog tasks
Pick three aspects of camera movement in the Minority Report clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience.
1)Hand held because the camera is shaking like a person is holding it. This creates a feeling of chaos and action in the scene.
2)Crane because it is moving at the top making everyone else look small and to shoot a big action scene from a high angle.
3)Zoom it is zooming into the character while he is holding on to create suspense and to highlight to the audience who we should be focusing on at this point in the film.
Pick two aspects of editing in the Minority Report clip and write about what effect it has on the audience.
Film transitions: When first some one is on a computer then the scene jumps to a fight scene.
Fade: Mostly when the scene finishes and it cuts to black.
Finally, revise last week's work on camerawork by picking out two shots or camera angles in the clip that communicate meaning to the audience.
